Talking Books & Braille Services

The Illinois State Library offers a Talking Book and Braille Service for blind, visually impaired, or physically handicapped residents. Services offered include talking books and the machines required to play them, Braille materials, a magazine service, and downloadable formats.

Residents must have a certified authority recommend them for the service. An Adult Services Librarian can assist you in this capacity if you decide to apply for the program. For more information on who can apply and how please visit the Apply for Free Talking Books and Braille Services page.
